Its reported Innocent Vheremu did not reveal his marital status and Letina discovered it after she eloped to him a fortnight ago. Letina died at Harare Central Hospital amid reports that she had attempted to terminate her pregnancy while her relatives accuse Innocent’s sister -Anne- of poisoning her.

She refutes the allegations. “They took it in a wrong way after failing to accept death as it is. We have been co-operating very well before one of the relatives developed cold feet and decided to take the body here.

“Innocent lives in Epworth and I wonder why they decided to dump the body at his young brother Lovemore Vheremu’s place.

“They refused to accept US$150 that we have raised to give them according to custom and we have no choice than engaging the police to help us,” said Anne. When H-Metro arrived in Cherima residents were gathered to catch a glimpse of the dumped dead body in a coffin.

Effort to get a comment from Innocent and Marimo family were fruitless as they were locked in a meeting in Geneva in the same suburb. It later emerged that the Marimo family finally agreed to collect the body at around 12 midnight. H Metro
