Diaspora Insurance announces leadership shake-up as founder moves to Executive Chairman role

Diaspora Insurance has unveiled a major leadership transition aimed at supporting its continued international expansion and strengthening internal operations.

The announcement, made on April 29, 2026, from Birmingham, outlines a shift at the top of the organization. Founder and current Chief Executive Officer Jeff Madzingo will step into the role of Executive Chairman with immediate effect.

In this position, he will concentrate on long-term strategic planning, partnerships, governance, and investor engagement rather than overseeing daily operations.

A new Chief Executive Officer is set to take over operational leadership beginning June 1, 2026. The incoming CEO will be responsible for executing the company’s growth strategy and managing its expanding global footprint. The identity of the appointee will be disclosed on the same date.

Madzingo, who established the company 14 years ago, has overseen its rise into a prominent provider of insurance and financial products tailored to diaspora communities.

During his tenure, the firm has extended its reach to clients representing more than 40 African nationalities and introduced a range of specialized offerings designed to meet the needs of families living abroad.

Commenting on the transition, Madzingo emphasized the importance of aligning leadership structure with rapid business growth. He noted that while expansion has been strong, a more deliberate organizational framework is necessary to maintain efficiency and sustain long-term success.
