Wits close in on Zimbabwean striker

SOUTH AFRICA – Bidvest Wits are said to be close to signing Zimbabwean striker Knox Mutizwa.

Bidvest Wits are said to be close to agreeing a deal with Zimbabwean side Highlanders FC striker Knox Mutizwa.

Mutizwa was last season’s Golden Boot winner in Zimbabwe, netting 14 goals in 17 matches and was also named among the 11 best players in Zimbabwe.

A source at the club has revealed that Wits coach Gavin Hunt is impressed with the striker.

“He has seen him and he liked what he saw,” said the source.

“He will have to convince management to bring him on board because it also understood he is not happy at his current club.”

Mutizwa saw a potential switch to Sweden fall through in August and is said to be excited by the prospect of playing in South Africa. The Citizen
