On-fire Mutizwa achieves milestone; becomes 10th player to score 50 goals for one club in SA
Zimbabwean international striker Knox Mutizwa achieved a milestone over the weekend when his goal versus giants SuperSport United saw him join an elite list of players to score 50 goals for one club in South Africa’s top flight league.
Mutizwa who is finding the net lately following a slow start to the season, scored again when his Golden Arrows lost 2-1 to SuperSport United in a league encounter played last Sunday.
The goal saw him becoming the tenth player in South Africa’s premier league to net 50 times for a single club.
At the same time, he became the third Zimbabwean player after Gilbert Mushangazhike and Wilfred Mugeyi to score 50 league goals for one club.
Other players who make the list are the likes of Siyabonga Nomvethe, Mudau Daniel, Suprise Moriri, Ithier Jean-Marc, Themba Zwane, Tico-Tico Bucuane as well as Grobler Bradley.
Meanwhile, the former Highlanders FC forward was recently honoured by his club for becoming the all-time leading top scorer with 51 goals to his name.
Mutizwa who was presented with an accolade in February, surpassed ex- Arrows’ striker Mabhuti Khanyeza who scored 43 goals in all competitions.
