Mutizwa shines in Arrows win over Gallants; scores, provides two assists

Zimbabwean international forward Knox Mutizwa displayed a man of the match performance when his side Golden Arrows came from behind to record a 3-2 victory over visitors Marumo Gallants on Wednesday.

The ex-Highlanders talisman grabbed a brace of assists and scored the winner, all in the second half, to help Arrows collect maximum points at their fortress Princess Magogo Stadium.

Arrows went behind in the 39th minute as Ngema put the visiting side in front, taking the lead into the half time break.

However, Ngema’s goal was cancelled by Dlamini in the 53rd minute off a Knox Mutizwa assist who sent into the box a beautiful cross from the right side of the field following a set piece.

Seven minutes after, Arrows took the lead courtesy of Mmodi who again was assisted by Mutizwa, this time setting up his team mate from inside the box.

After teeing up Dlamini and Mmodi, the 29-year-old finally registered his name on the score sheet in the 71st minute.

He lobbed the ball behind the net after capatilising on a defensive error following a miscommunication between his fellow countrymen Washington Arubi and his defenders.

The goal saw Mutizwa extend his tally as Arrows’ all-time top goal scorer to 46 goals in 120 appearances.
