SOUTH AFRICA – Golden Arrows have been hit with a three-transfer-window ban by FIFA after failing to pay outstanding dues owed to their all-time top goalscorer, Knox Mutizwa, who now plays for Richards Bay FC.
According to reports, FIFA’s statement to Arrows reads: “In this regard, we wish to inform the parties that a ban from registering new players internationally and nationally has been implemented by FIFA on the respondent.
“The registration ban will remain active until the amount due is paid, and for a maximum duration of up to three entire and consecutive registration periods.”
Mutizwa spent a total of eight years at Golden Arrows across multiple spells, scoring 63 goals in 231 matches, becoming the club’s all time top goal scorer.
The former Highlanders striker parted ways with the club at the start of the season following an alleged misunderstanding.
He then joined Richards Bay as a free agent after few months back.
