Mariehamn, Finland – Former Leicester City and Luton Town striker Admiral Muskwe has signed for IFK Mariehamn in Finland as a free agent following a successful trial stint.

Muskwe, the Zimbabwe senior national team striker spent a week on trial with IFK before earning the deal.

This was after parting ways with League Two side Harrogate Town at the end of a one-month contract recently.

IFK CEO and Sports Director Jimmy Wargh was impressed with Muskwe during the trial stint.

Commenting on Muskwe’s arrival, he said: “Admiral (Muskwe) trained with us for a week and we believe he will be a good complement to the other offensive players we have in the squad.”

Reacting to his new deal, Muskwe told the club’s media: “I am very happy to be coming to IFK Mariehamn. I trained for a week at the beginning of the month and I was impressed by the quality and professionalism of the players and managers.

“This is the perfect environment for me to come into and start scoring goals, assisting and winning games. I can hardly wait for the season to start.”

Muskwe’s past signings include Fleetwood Town, Exeter City, Wycombe Wanderers and Swindon Town.
