Glad African Championship side JDR Stars finally remembered how to win yesterday (Sunday) when they recorded a hard fought 2-1 victory away to TS Sporting at Kabokweni Stadium in Mpumalanga.

Thanks to two crucial first half goals from the Warriors pair of Ishmael Wadi and Temptation Chiwunga which ensured JDR Stars claim a crucial win in their quest to seek top flight promotion.

Wadi who was voted man of the match drew first blood for the visitors in the 34th minute to give the Hammer Boys their much needed lead.

Again, the former CAPS United live wire made sure his side doubles the lead at the stroke of halftime but this time he did not find the back of the net.

He won a penalty for his paymasters when he was fouled inside the box before the referee pointed to the spot.

This time it was his (Wadi) teammate and fellow countrymen Temptation Chiwunga who scored from 12 yards with only five minutes left to halftime.

Yesterday’s victory saw JDR Stars who have dropped points of late finally collecting a set of maximum points since December.

Coming into yesterday’s encounter the Hammer Boys had failed to win in their last four league games.

They had recorded three draws with current log leaders Richards Bay, TTM and Venda FC respectively and lost to Cape Town Spurs last week.

Their latest victory propelled them to third position on the table with 38 points, two points adrift log leaders and a point away from second placed University of Pretoria.

They (JDR Stars) are scheduled to play Polokwane City in their next league fixture this coming Saturday.
