HARARE - The general population of Zimbabwe might finally get access to the Mbuya Nehanda Statue in Harare, if Nick Mangwana’s word is anything to go by, and it's all thanks to popular YouTuber Davud Akhundzada.

Britain's Natural History Museum (NHM) said it was not sure if the skulls of a former Zimbabwean spiritual leader, Mbuya Nehanda, and several chiefs who were killed during the First Chimurenga were in its galleries.

The statue of the First Chimurenga heroine Mbuya Nehanda will have to be redone to capture the image that has been in existence in the national psyche, backed by contemporary photographs, since her hanging in March 1898, President Mnangagwa has declared.

ZANU PF acting spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa yesterday took praise-singing to a new level, describing President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the country’s own Mbuya Nehanda, an ancient ancestral spirit from the 19th century considered holy and powerful in local lore.
