Police in Zimbabwe arrested a 22 year-old man on allegations that he moved around a shopping centre in the dormitory town of Chitungwiza while calling for the overthrow of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Zanu-PF party. Blessing Mhembere is also accused of having asked those with guns to bring them along so that he can use them.
Former Chitungwiza ward 7 councilor Charamba Mlambo (Zanu PF) appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court charged with trying to allegedly bribe Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) officers to stop investigating a Chitungwiza Municipality official.
The Chitungwiza Central Hospital said on Friday it planned to give a paupers’ burial to 18 bodies that have been unclaimed from its mortuary for nearly a year.
