HARARE – Popular businessman Tinashe Mutarisi has explained to his followers the reasons behind shutting down Nash TV, stating that he believed they had nothing new to offer their followers.

Mutarisi took to Facebook, explaining that he felt Nash TV had nothing new to offer as they had done their level best, and it was now time to call it quits.

“I know most of you want to know why we are closing Nash TV. I believe we have done our best. There is nothing new we can offer you guys right now. I don’t want to keep holding on, because I think everything we did is what we wanted to do,” said Mutarisi.

“This is the best we can offer,” he added.

He explained that Nash TV was created solely to help artists during COVID, but now that COVID is over, it doesn’t have much purpose anymore.

“The reason why we created Nash TV was because of COVID. Now that Covid is over, we need to call it quits,” he said.

He also explained that the media industry required strong financial backing: “The media industry is not easy, and it’s financially draining. We have really done our best. The main reason is that we have done our best, that’s it.”

Responding to questions about what will happen to artists signed under the Nash TV label, Mutarisi said all artists are safe, especially the top four.

“As for our four main artists (Nisha Ts, Saintfloew, Ninety6, and Raymer), you don’t have to worry about them. Some managers we used to work with will continue working with our artists. These artists are safe,” he added.

In another post on his Facebook page, Mutarisi wrote;

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with. This journey has been incredible, and we’ve had the honor of collaborating with amazing artists.

“The decision to close NashTV comes from a place of fulfillment, knowing that we’ve done our best and made a meaningful impact. Thank you for being part of this journey. Muuye ku foodies.”
