GWANDA – Newly promoted Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Central Region Division One League outfit, Gwanda Pirates have appointed Highlanders legend Johannes ‘Tshisa’ Ngodzo as their new Head Coach.

The club unveiled Ngodzo via it’s social media platforms on Wednesday evening.

“Confirmed! Johannes “The Signature” Ngodzo has given us his signature. We are happy to announce that we have signed Johannes Ngodzo as our new head coach,” Pirates posted on Facebook.

Reacting to his new job, Signature as Ngodzo is also nicknamed said, “I want to thank everyone at Gwanda Pirates for trusting me with this opportunity.

“I know it won’t be easy as it’s a new challenge, but I’m excited and happy to be here in Gwanda.”

Ngodzo joins Pirates after leaving financially struggling ZIFA Southern Region Division One side Adachi FC who were reportedly dissolved.

Tshisa’s first game could be against his childhood club Highlanders who are set to travel to Gwanda to play Pirates in a pre-season friendly match on 23 February.

The match will be held at Phelandaba Stadium with two matches lined up for the day, with the first starting at 12:30hrs while the second at 15:00hrs.

Gate charges have been pegged at US$3.
