HARARE – Self-exiled former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Walter Mzembi, has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to praise Mabvuku-Tafara legislator Scott Sakupwanya and his Scottland FC project.
Mzembi believes the newly promoted Premier Soccer League (PSL) side could be the next big thing in Zimbabwean football.
“His (Scott) Scottland Football Club could be the future of football in Zimbabwe. He has a bankable vision for ZimSoccer going forward,” wrote Mzembi after watching Sakupwanya’s interview with Denny J on BoyzDzeTonaz TV on Youtube.
Beyond football, Mzembi also praised Sakupwanya, the BetterBrands boss, for his inspiring journey.
He added: “I have been listening to @HonSakupwanyaK’s interview with Denny J. He has an inspiring, humble, rags-to-riches story—bar the politics.
“Young people who are not academically gifted but have an entrepreneurial spirit can learn a thing or two from his journey. We need more of these inspirational stories broadcasted.”
Scottland FC is already making headlines following its professional approach to football in what will be its maiden season in the PSL.
The club has also been making headlines for buying PSL’s top stars including Khama Billiat and Walter Musona, buying an ambulance, bus, and plans to build a state-of-the-art stadium in Mabvuku.
