The twins who went viral in a video in which they were assaulting their ex-lover appeared in court over the weekend and were remanded in custody.
The twins, Shyleen and Shylet Nyangade were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwgwa.
Prosecuting Lovemore Siyamunda told the court that the Shyleen and the complainant were once in a relationship sometime in June last year, prompting the twins to come up with a plan to extort the man.
Their plan was that Shylet who was not in a relationship with the complainant would seduce him in the absence of her twin who would then find them in a compromising position.
In accordance to their plan, the two were caught resulting in Shyleen accusing the man of infidelity.
The twins started assaulting the man (who was nude) while recording a video on their phone then went on to extort US$3000 from him stating that they were going to leak the video on social media if he didn’t pay the money.
In an attempt to protect his image, he paid the amount.
The duo was remanded in custody to today. H-Metro
