The former Kaizer Chiefs goal machine has not played since toe and ankle injuries brought a premature end to his last season on loan at Amakhosi, compounded by his decision not to rejoin the Premier Soccer League club.

Musona has been the property of TSG Hoffenheim of the German Bundesliga since a move from Chiefs in 2011. But he spent just one season with the club before being loaned out after failing to make an impact.

He was at FC Augsburg for a season and then back with Chiefs last season.

But Amakhosi’s efforts to retain him were stymied by Musona’s desire to stay and prove himself in Europe, even though he did not feature in Hoffenheim’s plans and the club was unable to find him a new home by the time of the close of the last transfer window in August.

It has meant Musona has not played any competitive football since but is now on the verge of returning to action after agreeing a R5-million move to the Belgian club, where his new team mates will include Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali.
