Two weeks after donating sanitary pads to flood victims at the Chingwizi camp in the Tokwe Mukosi area, former UK Big Brother celebrity Makosi Musambasi on Thursday donated blankets at the Edith Opperman Maternity Home in Mbare.

The television presenter was born at the same hospital in 1980 and was back to where her own life journey began. Makosi told Nehanda Radio that she was “touched by the plight of expecting mothers in these wintry nights and decided to donate blankets to cushion them from the cold weather.”
Makosi runs a breast cancer awareness organisation called “Run for your life”, but donated blankets under her campaign “Be your sister’s keeper”. She said although she is yet to be a mother herself she values the importance of motherhood having being given her grandmother’s name.
Makosi has developed a knack of assisting the needy women in society. After donating sanitary ware to flood victims in Tokwe Mukosi, she also donated blankets to the Zambuko Childrens’ Home in light of the winter season.
She was also instrumental in raising funds for young Natasha Chiwara who underwent a heart surgery in India last year.
Makosi has embarked on several philanthropic works with her “Run for Your Life’ project but believes in the concept that ‘the left hand should not know what the right hand gives’.
