LONDON – Former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run to the season with a stunning 97th minute winner for Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Coming on as a substitute, Nketiah controlled the ball and then slotted in a volley with his left foot.
Ismaïla Sarr opened the scoring for Palace in the 9th minute before Italian striker Federico Chiesa equalised for Liverpool in the 87th minute.
Palace who are second on the table are now the only unbeaten team in the English Premier League.
In other games Brentford beat Manchester United 3-1 as Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty.
United found themselves 2-0 down inside 20 minutes, with Igor Thiago scoring twice for Brentford. Benjamin Sesko scored his first United goal to give the Reds hope of a comeback.
United captain Fernandes had the chance to make it 2-2 from the spot in the second half after Bryan Mbeumo was brought down in the area but his penalty was saved by Caoimhin Kelleher. Mathias Jensen then scored late on to make it 3-1.
Meanwhile a Danny Welbeck brace and a Maxim De Cuyper header earned Brighton a 3-1 win at Chelsea, who had Trevoh Chalobah sent off in the 53rd minute.
