HARARE – A top-tier Greek club is reportedly interested in securing the services of Zimbabwe international winger Daniel Msendami, Nehanda Radio has learnt.
Sources close to the player revealed that the unnamed Greek club, whose identity is being withheld for professional reasons, recently made inquiries regarding the availability of the 23-year-old winger.
The Greek side now joins a growing list of suitors, including South Africa’s Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC, as well as Tanzanian giants Young Africans, who are keen to land the talented winger.
Msendami is currently in the final six months of his contract with South African club Marumo Gallants, making him eligible to sign a pre-contract with another club ahead of a potential free transfer.
In April, Msendami’s agent, Tshepo More, confirmed that European clubs had shown interest in the winger’s services.
Speaking to FarPost, More said: “I always say this to Daniel: what we call an offer is something that is on paper. Once it is in black and white, then we call it an offer. But if you just receive calls saying, ‘we want this player,’ that’s not an offer.
“So, have I received calls? Yes, I have — from abroad, from clubs in the PSL, and from North Africa.
“I think we are going through a phase similar to what we experienced last season when he was still at Jwaneng Galaxy. There were many offers, some from big clubs, but we chose Marumo Gallants to give Daniel a platform to showcase his talent.
“We appreciate that the club has given him that opportunity, and we thank chairman Abram Sello for believing in him.”
Msendami joined Marumo Gallants from Botswana Premier League side Jwaneng Galaxy last year.
He enjoyed an impressive debut season in the South African Betway Premiership, scoring three goals and registering three assists in as many matches.
