SOUTH AFRICA – Zimbabwe international winger Daniel Msendami played a pivotal role in Marumo Gallants’ impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Orlando Pirates yesterday.
After Pirates took the lead through Patrick Maswanganyi, Msendami drew Gallants level just before halftime.
The winger latched onto a loose ball inside the box and fired a powerful left-footed shot past Sipho Chaine to make it 1-1.
The match remained tightly contested until stoppage time, when Jaisen Clifford netted the winner for Gallants, sealing a dramatic turnaround.
At the other end, veteran Zimbabwean goalkeeper Washington Arubi was in outstanding form, pulling off a series of crucial saves to deny the Buccaneers throughout the match.
The win sees Marumo Gallants climb to the top of the table with six points from two games.
