JOHANNESBURG – Zimbabwe Warriors’ speedy winger Daniel Msendami scored a beautiful long range free kick, sinking Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership match played at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Msendami’s brilliant strike helped Marumo Gallants secure a comeback victory against Amakhosi, who had initially taken the lead through Congolese forward Makabi Lilepo in the first half.
The Zimbabwean international found the net in the 70th minute, doubling Gallants’ advantage after Matome Mathiane had earlier levelled matters four minutes before halftime.
Msendami’s goal ultimately proved to be the match winner.
He was substituted in the 82nd minute, making way for Monde Mphambaniso, but his impactful performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
Speaking after the match, the former Jwaneng Galaxy star expressed his delight, chanting his personal moniker “Unless they kill God,” emphasising his belief divine guidance continues to propel him toward success despite challenges.
Saturday’s recognition marked the third time Msendami has been named Man of the Match this season.
The 23-year-old previously earned the accolade when Gallants defeated SuperSport United 1-0 in November and against AmaZulu in September, just a few months after joining the club.
Msendami has now scored three goals and provided three assists in his maiden season in South Africa’s top flight league.
The Bosso 90 product made the move to Gallants from Botswana Premier League side Jwaneng Galaxy mid last year.
