Promising Zimbabwean stocky forward Nokutenda Mangezi is reportedly set for a loan move to the Motsepe Foundation Championship Pretoria Callies from Betway Premiership side SuperSport United.
Mangezi joined SuperSport United in September 2024 from Zimbabwe’s Real Betis Academy.
His arrival was met with considerable excitement, and he quickly made his debut for Matsatsantsa in a high profile fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns few days after completing his move.
A surprising move to SuperSport United suggested a bright future for the 19-year old forward.
However, the youngster has fallen down the pecking order due to increased competition in SuperSport’s attack.
This is due to the arrival of veteran striker Samir Nurkovic as well as the return of SuperSport’s prolific striker, Bradley Grobler from injury.
As a result of these developments, SuperSport United has opted to loan Mangezi to Pretoria Callies in the South African First Division League.
Mangezi will be hoping to impress to ensure he returns to SuperSport United’s fold.
Upon his arrival at SuperSport, Mangezi revealed that he idolises former Warriors and Kaizer Chiefs star Knowledge Musona.
“Growing up in Zimbabwe, watching Musona playing and scoring, he was my idol. So, you’ll hear me saying I want to be like Musona one day or even better than him,” in an interview, he told SABC Sport.
Mangezi once played for the Premier Soccer League champions Simba Bhora on loan from Real Betis Academy.
