South Africa’s DStv Premiership side SuperSport United has appointed former Zimbabwe Warriors left back Onismor Bhasera as one of their assistant coaches.
The club announced Bhasera’s appointment on Wednesday, confirming that the former SuperSport defender will now be part of Andre Arendse and Grant Johnson’s technical team.
“Onismor Bhasera returns to help guide the team forward as part of Andre Arendse and Grant Johnson’s technical team,” posted the club on Facebook.
His appointment comes just days after SuperSport United parted ways with head coach Gavin Hunt due to poor results.
“SuperSport United FC and Head Coach Gavin Hunt have reached a mutual agreement to part ways with immediate effect.
“The board and management of the Club have expressed their appreciation to Hunt for the work he has done as Head Coach over many years.
“We remain convinced that Gavin still has much to contribute to South African and African football given his extensive knowledge and experience.
“We will always remain grateful for the impact he has had on the club and South African football.
“Andre Arendse will serve as an interim Head Coach with Goalkeeper Coach Grant Johnson as his assistant,” wrote the club.
