‘Amapiano Queen’ Sha Sha clarifies relationship status: “I am not married”

Must Try

While some might regard her as the Queen of Amapiano, Charmaine “Sha Sha” Mapimbiro has revealed that she has not yet found the king of her heart, quashing speculation that she might have got hitched in secret.

Last year, the Zimbabwean-born songbird sparked rumours that she was now married after announcing that she was readying for a new chapter in her life while showing off what some thought was an engagement ring.

While, it was revealed that the huge diamond she showed off was merely for a video shoot, speculation suggesting that she is now married has not completely died down.

In an interview with Sunday World, Sha Sha confessed that she was not married, but she has used the video to spark rumours she was now taken.

“It was that was so cute the way everyone was going crazy. It was so shocking to even see, and even back home I was on newspapers.

“People really fell for it, but I was just having fun with my friends, but of course, I am not married. It was obviously leading up to my music video,” she said.

As she prepares for the release of her latest single, Sha Sha also revealed how cutthroat the music industry is.

“I have always been grounded, which I believe is the most important thing. When it comes to this industry, you need to know what you want.

“You have to have a proper headstrong… and then understand that in this industry, it is not for the fainthearted. You have to be strong, you have to fight, and you have to literally stand your ground,” said Shasha.

While some might see them as competitors, Sha Sha confessed her desire to work with fellow singer Nkosazana Daughter.

“I have always loved females, and I am looking forward to working with more. I am such a fan Nkosazana Daughter and actually love to work with her. I love her voice; it is beautiful,” she said.
