SOUTH AFRICA – Betway Premiership side SuperSport United assistant coach Andre Arendse has heaped praise on Zimbabwe Under-20 talisman Nokutenda Mangezi saying he is a good young player with a big heart.
Arendse’s comment comes after the 19-year-old played the whole 90 minutes on his debut for SuperSport United against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday evening.
This was barely 24 hours after Mangezi penned a one year deal with the Gavin Hunt coached side.
“Mangezi is a good young player. It’s not his best performance tonight but he is learning,” said Arendse.
The gaffer believes the Real Betis Academy product could become a regular for Matsatsantsa.
“He has a big heart to earn a place in that team. We saw that in pre-season.
“He had a tough introduction into the PSL but can do a lot more. We will give him the means to operate, and show him how we want him to play.
“We will do that because he is learning all the time. He is one for the future. If I say future, I mean the near future”.
Mangezi is playing along with his fellow countrymen Terrence Dzvukamanja who is also one of SuperSport’s attackers.
The rising star earned a national team call up in the U-20s who are preparing for the COSAFA Qualifiers scheduled for 25 September to 5 October.
