Discovery Ambulance Services (DAS) makes big splash in Zimbabwe market

Discovery Ambulance Services (DAS), a new player in the market that is integrating emergency access and urgent care in Zimbabwe, has made its presence known with dozens of new ambulances equipped with the latest life-saving equipment.

The service is the brainchild of couple David and Chantelle Munowenyu who say they were inspired to invest by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large, Uebert Angel.

Available via subscriptions for as low as $5 per month for adults and $2 per month for those under 18, the service also extends coverage to additional dependents, including the parents of their customers.

One standout feature from DAS is that “if a person is over 65 there is no fee to pay.” This has been dubbed the “ED MNANGAGWA & DISCOVERY AMBULANCES COVER FOR SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAMME”.

DAS is also targeting people in the Diaspora, offering them the opportunity to provide emergency medical care for their loved ones back home.

On their website, the service says its “striving to ensure patients receive the right response, in the right place, at the right time. We want to provide our patients with the highest quality care and contribute towards Zimbabweans having health outcomes.

“Our fleet has the latest life-saving equipment and is operated by highly skilled personnel. Call our emergency number on 991 (Zimbabwe only) for an immediate response and rapid service.”
