Gerrard revealed this last Friday ahead of his side’s 2-1 defeat away to Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend afternoon at Molineux Stadium.

“We’ve got the majority of the group healthy at the moment. We’ve got one or two who travelled and were in transit for a long time over the last 24 hours.

“There’s really only Nakamba now who we are trying to get up to speed. We’re hoping he will be in and around the Tottenham game,” said Gerrard on Friday.

“He’s had two weeks training now so if we can get Nakamba up to speed we’re ready to go and attack the next eight games after tomorrow. It’s very much about focusing on now and trying to put ourselves in a really positive position for pre-season,” he added.

Aston Villa manager, Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Warriors' holding midfielder Marvelous Nakamba will be ruled out for about 3-4 weeks due to a knee injury.

Nakamba’s return to the Villa fold is agreebly going to hand Gerrard a huge boost in his squad following the team’s unfavourable results when the left footed player got injured when the Villains lost 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield in December.

He has recovered well after undergoing a knee surgery that determined he must be sidelined for 12-16 weeks.

His injury setback came at a time he had slowly turned into a mainstay in Gerrard’s midfield department, cementing himself in the gaffer’s preferred starting eleven.

Furthermore, as a result of his enticing performance the soft spoken midfielder was then voted the club’s player of the month for the month of November 2021. Nehanda Radio
