Panashe Zhawari was scheduled to appear in court last Friday but her matter was referred back to the police station for amendment of charges under the Censorship and Entertainment Control Act Section 33 when she was initially taken to court for prosecution.

“The matter was referred back to station for amendment of the charge. They had charged her under the Censorship and Entertainment Control Act Section 33, which we argued does not disclose an offence.

“They have now preferred public indecency charges in terms of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform ) Act ,” said Panashe’s lawyer Musindo Hungwe.

“She will appear in court on Monday and she is of course denying the allegations,” he said.

Harare Polytechnic principal, Tawanda Mudondo, 10 other models and the photographers of the event were also reportedly picked up by police for questioning over the same matter.
