Chicken Inn will not get a cent for Ndoro

By Fungai Muderere

Tendai Ndoro’s dream move to crack Mzansi outfit Orlando Pirates appears headed for a tailspin following revelations by Mpumalanga Black Aces that they retrenched the player prior to his move to the Soweto giants.

The development falls hard on the heels of an attempt by Chicken Inn, Ndoro’s previous local club, to recover their 30 percent dues from the players’ sale and it has set AmaZiyoni and Gamecocks on a collision course.

“Mpumalanga Black Aces are arguing that they have no capacity to pay Chicken Inn for the transfer of Tendai Ndoro to Orlando Pirates. They are saying they did not sell the player but they retrenched him prior to his move to Pirates.

“They also mention that times have been hard in South Africa and in football in general and they had to look at a number of options as part of their cost cutting measures.

“They add that they saw it fit to retrench professional footballers and staff members which Ndoro was part of them.

They claim that the player was retrenched and given a clearance certificate,” said Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela.

Chicken Inn recently engaged Zifa in a tireless effort to get financial benefits.

“We (Zifa) have written to Safa on that matter and they are yet to respond. We are looking forward to seeing them (Safa) address this matter because we don’t understand Mpumalanga Black Aces’ argument. We feel that Black Aces should pay Chicken Inn. Their argument does not hold water. Our club should benefit from Ndoro’s move,” said Gwesela.

When Ndoro (27), affectionately known as Fire moved to Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2013 there was a sale on clause that if the player makes a move in the next five years, the Bulawayo side would get a share of the spoils.

Gamecocks own Ndoro till 2018 and through their chairman Lifa Ncube they argue that they were suppose to get a certified copy of his transfer agreement. Consequently, to the Innscor sponsored outfit, Ndoro’s move to Pirates is currently null and void and he should just stop playing for Pirates until they get their money.

Fire, a 2013 local league Top Goal Scorer and Soccer Star of the Year finalist, who was earlier on linked with cash rich Mamelodi Sundowns before Pirates snapped him, has made two league appearances in Sea Robbers colours.

The Zimbabwe international reportedly signed a three-year deal at Pirates to join a strike-force containing Kermit Erasmus, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Thamsanqa Gabuza and Lennox Bacela.

He once had playing stints in Botswana and at local lower Division One clubs that include Railstars and the now defunct Kujatana. He had been in fine form for AmaZayoni since joining in 2013, netting 16 goals last term while in the 2014/2015 season he had six to his name in 19 league appearances. B Metro
