Last Friday afternoon, Oliver Mtukudzi made his first official public appearance after rumours of his death.

The singer was in a jovial mood when he met with fans at Edgars Lapf House in Bulawayo, ahead of his performance in the city that evening.
He signed autographs, joked with fans and gave away 100 tickets to his show, courtesy of Edgars. In the evening he proved he was still very much alive at his City of Kings 60th Birthday Celebrations show, attended by over 2 000 people.
The Internet erupted last week Tuesday with rumours that Mtukudzi was dead after a short illness. This was after the cancellation of a series of shows.
His spokesman Shephard Mutamba however said Tuku is diabetic and from time to time the condition causes severe exhaustion and he requires rest.
