A SCUFFLE over a DVD player last week ended tragically after two Penhalonga brothers teamed up to assault their sibling to death.

Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Enock Chishiri, confirmed the death of Kennedy Mwedzi (28) who died upon arrival at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare. Kennedy lost too much blood after sustaining serious injuries from the beatings by the duo.
He said Talkmore and Victor Mwedzi aged 35 and 31 years respectively have since been arrested and were assisting police with investigations.
“Kennedy went to his brother, Talkmore’s homestead armed with a sjambok and an axe. He confronted him over his DVD player which was allegedly damaged by Talkmore.
He struck him on the forehead with a sjambok and went on to strike Victor using the back of an axe. The two were infuriated and fought back using fists. They assaulted him all over his body.
“Kennedy, who appeared drunk escaped and sought refuge at his uncle’s homestead who resides in the same village. The following morning his health deteriorated and he was rushed to Manica Bridge Clinic before being referred to Mutare Provincial Hospital.
He was further transferred to Parirenyatwa Hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival,” said Insp Chishiri.
