The man, Rodrick Mukarati Mhou Mafusire (38), who is the Deacon of Holy Apostolic Church impregnated Memory Nyapimbi (18) and Molline Nyapimbi (16). They both gave birth recently.

The two girls gave birth this year in August and September respectively. Memory is said to have given birth at Ndanga clinic while Molline gave birth at their homestead. The mother of the two teenagers, Varaidzo Mhuru (42), does not know what to believe as her daughters and her husband deny the sexual liasons.

“I’m not in love with my father. Inyaya inongotaurwa nevanhu. I don’t know where they got it from. The claims got to Bvukururu police post and mum and dad where picked up for investigations. We later went to Zaka police station where police quizzed us and I denied the allegations,” said Memory.

She claimed that her infant belongs to her ex-boyfriend whom she said disappeared upon realising that he had impregnated her.

“Hebert Sithole is the guy who impregnated me. He comes from Chipinge and he was a herd boy at one homestead in our area. I would have sex with him while I was in Form 3 at Rusununguko Secondary School in Marozva area in Bikita. He impregnated me last year but he later vanished away. Our enemies are the ones who cooked this story. They want to destroy our family,” added Memory.

Memory gave birth to a baby boy while Molline gave birth to a girl. Molline also denied ever being her stepfather’s ‘sweetheart’.

“Kuti varume vapera here? That’s impossible. Yes people are saying that but those are mere fabrications,” said Molline, the 16-year-old mother of one. Molline added that she came to stay with her stepfather, Deacon Mukarati, three months ago after her husband went to South Africa.

“Ini ndakauya pano kuzosungirwa, ndakaroorwa kwaTakawira,” she said.

Interestingly when our news crew asked her to reveal her husband’s name, she said she has since forgotten the name. However, our sources said the man who was seeing Molline ditched her upon learning that she was also ‘dating’ her father.

Meanwhile, an elder sister to the two teenage mothers, Melody Nyapimbi (20), said she has also heard the rumour.

“That’s the main news in this village nowadays. They claim that Memory is deeply in love with our father. ZvaMolline ndatozvinzwa kubva kwamuri. Memory is the one whom people say is in love with our father. People say the two are usually spotted in bushy areas, at Makaya Business Centre, at Chipinda School and other various places,” she revealed.

When reached for comment, Deacon Mukarati also denied ever falling in love with any of his step daughters.

“This issue troubles me a lot. I got arrested in June and I was escorted to Bvukururu police post. I was also taken to Zaka police station in August. I went with this girl (Memory), and her mother to the police station where the officers quizzed us separately over the matter and they failed to get any evidence. Now I don’t know what to do,” said Deacon Mukarati.

Despite the family’s denials, so many villagers in the area still claim that Deacon Mukarati and his wife’s daughter Memory are seeing each other behind his wife’s back. Other villagers have said that the matter should be brought before Chief Ndanga’s court for further investigations. H Metro
