HARARE- The much-anticipated Mavado concert that was scheduled for Friday has been postponed. Mavado was expected to arrive in Zimbabwe Thursday with his full band. Speaking at a press conference Clint Robinson of C&A Entertainment said Mavado and his band will not be able to travel from their base in Jamaica.
News from Jamaica has it that band member 3-Star lost his mother. “The situation is unfortunate we have been forced to postpone the concert to the 27th of January next year.” More than 2 000 tickets are said to have been sold making the show one of the most promising this festive season.
Robinson said fans who had bought tickets and want refunds can be reimbursed. “Out of those 2000 plus tickets we have sold, if there are any people who feel they might want refunds, they should get hold of us as we are prepared to do so.”
He however, said the tickets will be valid for the January show. Mavado would have been the fifth Jamaican musician to visit Zimbabwe this year after Cocoa Tee, Elephant Man, Fantan Mojah and Mr Vegas.
