Sungura musician Tongai Moyo has embarked on a promotional tour that will see him focus on new venues in Harare and its environs. Tongai, known by his fans as Dhewa, makes a debut appearance Friday at the City Sports Bar.
He is expected to roll out his plan that will also see him stage gigs at most new joints in Kadoma, Chegutu, and Gweru, before coming to Harare for similar shows. But being the man of honour that he is, Tongai will not forget the conventional joints that propelled him to stardom.
Speaking from his base in Kwekwe Tongai said he was looking forward to his show at the City Sports Bar. “I am going there for the first time,” he said. “But I know both my fans and I are going to have a good time.”
Tongai has a string of hit albums under his belt – “Naye”, “Muchina Muhombe”, “Muridzi Wenyaya”. His latest album “Toita Basa”, has lived up to its billing.
