Winky D, Makhadzi and Kamo Mphela headline high-energy lineup for ZITF closing celebration

Bulawayo is gearing up for a lively conclusion to the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), with organisers promising a standout edition of the Harris Music Festival this Saturday at the Bulawayo Athletic Club.

Originally conceived as a closing celebration, the event has steadily evolved into one of the city’s most anticipated entertainment highlights, drawing visitors, music fans and partygoers eager to round off the trade fair week on a high note.

This year’s programme features a strong mix of Zimbabwean and regional talent. Dancehall star Winky D is set to return, continuing his long-standing association with the festival where he has delivered memorable performances in past editions.

He will be joined by local acts including Msiz’kay, Tiff, DJ Sfiso, Prince Eskhosini and DJ Eugy. Hosting duties will be handled by MTKay Ntwana, who recently led a major international event in the United States.

A strong South African contingent is also expected to add international flair.

Headlining the regional lineup is Makhadzi, alongside performers such as Kamo Mphela, Scotts Maphuma and NaakMusiQ. Maskandi musician Mthandeni SK is also part of the lineup, bringing a traditional music element to the event.

Additional performers, including Cowboii, Tracy, Thukuthela, Jazz Worx and GL Ceejay, are expected to contribute to a diverse programme blending established and emerging acts.

Organisers say preparations are nearing completion, with artists scheduled to begin arriving in Bulawayo ahead of the event.

Event coordinator Tonderai Rice confirmed that South African performers will start landing on Friday, led by Mthandeni SK, with others expected on Saturday.

Rice noted strong interest from attendees, prompting organisers to arrange additional parking facilities near the venue to accommodate the anticipated turnout.

Performers are also expressing enthusiasm ahead of the show. Msiz’kay, a regular on the festival stage, highlighted the event’s growth over the years and its impact on his career, adding that audiences can expect an energetic performance.

With excitement building across the city, the Harris Music Festival is expected to deliver a vibrant and memorable conclusion to this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
