Gospel music lovers in the United Kingdom are set for a treat as prominent gospel singers Shingisai Suluma and Fungisai Zvakavapano team up for a show at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Saturday the 19th of September.
The show initially was meant to feature Shingisai as the main headline act but promoters Mystery in Stone have since decided to take advantage of Fungisai’s presence in the UK to team the two superstars together.
Fungisai gave a brilliant performance recently during the Motherland Zimbabwe festival where she shared the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi, jazz great Paul Lunga and performing poet Albert Nyathi.
On Tuesday Fungisai was at the SW Radio Africa studios in London for an interview with On the Pulse presenter Lance Guma. The show is aired every Friday online and Sunday’s on Shortwave in Zimbabwe.
Shingisai meanwhile is expected to jet into the UK anytime from her new base in the United States. Other supporting acts to be featured during the concert include Obert Mazivisa and the Trumpet Echoes, Primrose Urombo and Umbane Dancing Troupe. Legendary Radio and TV presenter Eric Knight will be the Master of Ceremony.
