In a desperate move to seek votes from college students, Zanu PF is rolling out trips to mass graves at Chimoio and Nyadzonia in Mozambique. More than 200 students from the Harare Polytechnic were yesterday bused to the graves.

The students have been clothed in Zanu PF regalia. The trips are purported to be for academic purposes but slogans and Mugabe praises are the main events.

More than three thousand refugees including ZANLA cadres were killed at Chimoio and Tembwe camps in a combined air and ground raid conducted by the Rhodesian Security Forces in 1977 during the liberation war.

While there is nothing wrong in remembering these past historical sites, why are these students also not taken on similar trips to mass graves of victims of the Gukurahundi Massacres in the Matabeleland and Midlands provinces?
