HARARE – Suspended Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Takesure Chiragwi has reportedly been linked with a move to CAPS United, who are currently battling to avoid relegation.
While nothing official has been confirmed by either club, sources indicate that the 2023 league title-winning coach is among the candidates being considered to replace current Makepekepe gaffer Ian Bakala, who took over from Lloyd Chitembwe during the 2025 campaign.
A reliable source revealed to Nehanda Radio that Chiragwi is among several coaches shortlisted by CAPS United executives, who are eager to assemble a technical team capable of challenging for silverware next season.
This is not the first time CAPS United have been linked with their former defender.
The two parties were also in contact during the mid-season transfer window, with reports then suggesting a deal was almost finalised.
However, the move fell through at the last minute, resulting in Chiragwi staying on at Ngezi Platinum Stars while Makepekepe appointed Bakala.
Meanwhile, Chiragwi is currently serving a suspension after Ngezi Platinum Stars temporarily relieved him of his duties for misconduct.
He was handed the suspension following an incident in which he slapped one of his players who was attempting to calm him down after he received a straight red card during a match against Dynamos three weeks ago.
