BLANTYRE – World football governing body FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on Malawian giants Nyasa Big Bullets after the club failed to pay Zimbabwean midfielder Ronald Chitiyo his outstanding dues of US$15,200.

Bullets were found guilty of wrongfully terminating Chitiyo’s contract and were ordered to compensate the former Dynamos and CAPS United midfielder.

The club was given 45 days to settle the payment, with FIFA warning that failure to comply would result in a three-season ban from registering new players.

Chitiyo had signed a three-year deal with Big Bullets in April 2024 during Kalisto Pasuwa’s tenure as head coach.

The contract was meant to run until 2027, but the club terminated it after Pasuwa’s departure.
