Despite playing a crucial role in helping Al-Okhdood Club avoid relegation in the Saudi Pro League, Zimbabwe Warriors forward Knowledge Musona has been released by the club.
The 35-year-old, who joined Al-Okhdood last season, is now a free agent.
His departure is part of the club’s broader strategy to overhaul its foreign player roster with new signings that align better with its tactical vision.
Musona was released alongside six other foreign players: Nigerian winger Savior Godwin, Guinean forward Ousmane Barry, Jamaican defender Damion Lowe, and the Brazilian trio of Paulo Vitor, Petros Matheus, and Diego Souza.
The move comes despite earlier reports that negotiations were ongoing between Musona and the club to determine his future.
However, the talks proved unsuccessful, leading to his exit.
The former Kaizer Chiefs star now looks set for a new chapter in his career.
