Legendary Zimbabwe Warriors forward Peter Ndlovu has urged former national team captain Knowledge Musona to come out of international retirement.
Ndlovu wants Musona to play at least 10 games for the Warriors and score more goals to surpass his own record.
The former Coventry City forward is the Warriors’ all time leading top scorer with 38 goals in 100 caps.
Ndlovu is confident Musona who retired from international duty in May 2022 can surpass his record.
The former Kaizer Chiefs star hanged his boots with 24 goals to his name in 49 caps.
As a result, Ndlovu believes Musona should make a u-turn and don the Warriors’ jersey once again, just like what Khama Billiat did in September.
Responding to Billiat’s post on X where the former Kaizer Chiefs man shared a photo of him along with Ndlovu, Walter Musona and Godknows Murwira captioned, ‘thank you legend’, he said:
“Khama your country always needed you. Thanks for returning boy. The confidence you instill to the team is unimaginable. The likes of Wales (Walter Musona) have vastly been improving and learning from you.
“We hope Knowledge (Musona) can give us another 10 games so that he surpasses the record goals.”
Ndlovu’s sentiments comes hot on the heel of reports that new Warriors coach Michael Nees recently reached out to Musona trying to persuade the Saudi Arabia based star to return to the team.
