Must Try

WOLVERHAMPTON – English Premier League (EPL) side Wolverhampton Wanderers versatile midfielder Marshall Munetsi, has promised to “keep on working” on his finishing as he adapts to a more offensive role under coach Vitor Pereira.

The Zimbabwean international has admitted that his conversion rate in front of goal has been concerning, despite frequently finding himself in promising positions.

“I think it’s something that I just have to keep on working. As a midfielder, when you get there with fatigue sometimes, you just have to remain calm.

“Today I couldn’t do that, but the most important (thing) is the three points we got today,” he told the club’s media.

Munetsi, who joined Wolves from French side Stade Reims on deadline day, is being played in a more offensive role compared to his previous defensive duties.

So far, he has made 11 shots, scoring once, with three on target and the rest off target, including his effort that hit the crossbar in their win over West Ham United on Wednesday.

However, despite the slow start in front of goal, his scoring record at Reims where he netted 21 times shows his potential.

He also found the net last week in Zimbabwe’s 2-2 draw against Benin.

As a result, the ex-Orlando Pirates and Baroka star can rediscover his scoring form and contribute more goals at Wolves.
