HARARE – The newly appointed Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lieutenant General (Retired) Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe, has described his predecessor Kirsty Coventry as a “true champion on and off the field” during a farewell party held in Harare.

“Coventry’s remarkable journey is one built on extraordinary integrity and dedication, decorated with unparalleled achievements and unwavering commitment to the values of sportsmanship and service.
“As a swimmer, she graced the world stage with her exceptional talent, bringing immense pride and glory to Zimbabwe, our motherland. Her Olympic medals are a clear testimony to her sheer determination and hard work.
“She has indeed inspired generations of young athletes to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence,”
