BULAWAYO – Highlanders Football Club have suspended their chief executive officer (CEO), Brian Moyo, with immediate effect amid allegations of fraud and corruption.

Sources suggest that Moyo who has been in office for barely four months, submitted a fraudulent US$23,000 invoice to the club, despite the actual transfer fee owed to rivals Bulawayo Chiefs being US$18,000.

The matter was accidentally uncovered, leading to his suspension on Thursday during a joint board and executive.

According to sources, this is not the first time Moyo has been implicated in a similar fraudulent and corrupt act at Bosso.

It is reported that he was once got fired for the same matter when he worked at Bosso before his recent return in November.

The 53-year-old Moyo who previously worked at the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC), replaced Sihlangu Dlodlo in November 2024.

“Highlanders is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Moyo as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately,” Highlanders wrote.
