Barely a year after completing stadium projects in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique, football enthusiast Prophet Walter Magaya has embarked on a new ambitious stadium project.
This time his new project will be built in the city of Kwekwe.
The new sporting facility will be named after his ‘son’ and business associate Shepherd Chawanda.
According to the philanthropist and alleged ZIFA presidential aspirant, the stadium will be named Chawanda also known as (aka) the Heart Main.
The Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) leader said that Chawanda will be a better version of the original Heart Stadium which was built last year at Yadah Hotel in Waterfalls, Harare.
“…this (Chawanda) will be a magnified and transformed version of the Heart Arena coming out bigger and better.”
He also added they will address any shortcomings of the original facility, the 5 000 seater Heart Stadium.

Prophet Magaya has highlighted Chawanda will be two times bigger than the original the Heart, currently home to his owned Yadah FC.
The Heart Stadium was officially opened by president Emmerson Mnangagwa in December 2023.
Top government officials including minister of sports Kirsty Coventry, her deputy Emily Jesaya and the sports commission chairperson Gerald Mlotshwa, were also in attendance.
The former Zimbabwe national team benefactor believes Chawanda Stadium which is strategically located at the epicentre of the country, will benefit all the Castle Lager PSL teams.

Apart from that, he insisted the new sporting facility will also benefit all national teams, emphasising it will meet all the CAF requirements.
Speaking on the new project, Prophet Magaya who has built other stadiums in Malawi and Mozambique, said:
“My partner (Shepherd Chawanda) is strong enough and well much encouraged, we will complete this most probably early January 2025 coinciding with the ZIFA elections.”
He added: “My other eye is on the Southern and Eastern Regions, they need the same.”

He further revealed football lovers and administrators who visited the site have expressed shock at the progress and pace of construction work.
“All football lovers and administrators were shocked when they went to see the ground, the work is massive. It was a huge surprise,” he added.
Magaya once said his spiritual father, the late TB Joshua, who anointed him to start his own ministry, prophesied that apart from ‘healing people and preaching the word of God’, he will play an integral part in helping the football community in Zimbabwe.
In fact, Joshua gave Magaya a signed and ‘blessed’ white adidas ball seen by Nehanda Radio said to be a sign he will excel throughout his football journey.
