Cameroon and Manchester United shot stopper Andre Onana has said Kenya is the “only team giving us competition in our group” following the just ended 2025 AFCON qualifier against Zimbabwe.
Cameroon are in Group J along with Zimbabwe, Kenya and Namibia.
This means Onana believes Zimbabwe and Namibia are ‘small teams’.
This is despite having struggled to beat Namibia (1-0) and drawing against Zimbabwe (0-0).
“Kenya is the only team in our group that is giving us competition but I hope we make it to the qualifying round,” the United goalkeeper told SkySports News.
However, adding to his comment, the former Ajax Amsterdam goal minder admitted their match versus the Warriors “was a little bit hard”.
He added: “The game against Zimbabwe was a little bit hard but we came out with a point, which is good.
Furthermore, Onana also expressed his gratitude to the Manchester United fans in Uganda who gave him a heroic welcome cheering and whistling in unison whenever the star had the ball.
“I’m also happy by the love shown for me by the Manchester United fans in Uganda,” said Onana.
