Gate charges set for World Cup qualifier between Zimbabwe and Lesotho in SA

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has taken to its social media platforms to announce the gate charges for the forthcoming World Cup qualifier match against Lesotho next month.

The crucial match is slated for 7 June at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

ZIFA’s post on Facebook reads that the Rest of the Ground will be charged R50 for adults and R30 for kids U12.

The football association also indicated that tickets will be available online via a link shared on the same post.

“Zimbabwe versus Lesotho tickets now available. Adults: R50, Kids U12: R20,” ZIFA wrote announced on social media.

The Warriors are hosting Lesotho in a foreign land due to the unavailability of functional stadiums that can host CAF and FIFA international matches.

After hosting Lesotho, Zimbabwe will then play South Africa at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on 11 June.

Both the National Sports and Rufaro Stadiums which used to host international games were banned by CAF for failing to meet the minimum required standards.

CAF requires Zimbabwe to refurbish its stadiums to host international matches.

Some of the CAF requirements include installation of bucket seats, electronic turnstiles, a Venue Operations Centre (VOC) and renovation of the B-Arena.

The sporting facilities have become an eyesore following neglection by the government and the municipality.
