Zimbabwe are in Group B along with Zambia, Comoros and Kenya.

The Warriors leave a day after their coach Jairos Tapera publicly distanced himself from the COSAFA Cup squads that were announced by ZIFA recently.

The Manica Diamonds coach revealed to the Zimpapers Sports Hub that he did not select any players.

“I don’t know who (at ZIFA) released the two teams,” declared Tapera, as quoted by H-Metro. “I haven’t announced anything yet, you will all know when I pick my own players.”

This was after ZIFA had announced two seperate squads, the first one on Friday and the second which was a revised 23-man squad on Sunday.

Zimbabwe missed last year’s edition due to FIFA suspension following “third party” interference.
