GWERU – Yadah FC finally registered their first win of the season following a hard fought 3-2 victory over Premier Soccer League (PSL) returnees Telone at Bata Stadium in Gweru on Sunday.

Prosper Kafelapanjila, Blessed Ndereki and Marlon Mushonga scored for Yadah while Kudzai Jaison and Collins Chidomaya were on target for Telone.

Yadah’s marquee signing Khama Billiat was not in the match day squad after picking up when they lost 2-1 to Simba Bhora in the previous weekend.

The 34-year-old midfielder was forced to leave the pitch just before halftime following an injury on his calf.

The injury is a setback for Billiat who is aiming to revive his career at Yadah after a difficult spell at Kaizer Chiefs.

According to reports he will be ruled out for two weeks due to the calf injury.

Speaking after yesterday’s win, Yadah FC coach Thomas Ruzive said: “In the other previous matches, we were playing well but failing to score and today we managed to score.”

The Miracle Boys are set to square off against Chegutu Pirates in their next assignment.
