UK based Rachel Chinouriri earns praise from Adele.. sells out first show

LONDON – UK based Zimbabwean Rachel Chinouriri’s star continues to rise in the music industry after she sold out her first ever concert while receiving praise from music superstar Adele.

Adele shared her love for the “absolutely amazing” Rachel Chinouriri during the latest show of her Las Vegas residency this weekend.

The singer is continuing her ‘Weekends with Adele’ residency and took the time during a show on Saturday to spotlight one of her favourite new singers.

“Someone sent me a song, I actually can’t remember the name, [but] I’m going to remember her name for next week so I can give her a shoutout,” Adele told the crowd during the show.

“There’s a new artist, she’s British, her name is Rachel [Chinouriri] and she does like indie music.”

“She’s absolutely amazing,” Adele added, saying that she is planning to attend Chinouriri’s Los Angeles show at The Echo on March 20.

“I’m going to go on my own,” she said. “That’s what I’m gonna do.”

Posting on Facebook, Chinouriri’s sister Lorraine-Badza Chinouriri said that the singer’s parents had flown in from Zimbabwe to surprise her at her debut concert.

“My baby sister’s first concert and she sold out! Adele shouted her out and will be attending her USA concert which is also sold out so proud! And of course she reps Zim always.

“Let me also just say we have the MOST SUPPORTIVE PARENTS EVER, they flew in from Zim just to surprise our baby sis.

“They were there when she performed at her first performance at Brit School, there when she performed at her first concert as a supporting act, and now there when she had her first ever concert as a solo act. Ever present, ever loving ” she posted.

Chinouriri will release her debut album, What A Devastating Turn Of Events, in May.
