South Africa’s Babes Wodumo disappointed fans in Bulawayo last year after failing to attend the Kalawa Homecoming Party where she was billed to perform claiming to have missed her flight to the city.

She is now trying to make up for that no-show by performing at the Large City Hall car park on September 1.

The singer and dancer, who is riding high on her Gqom track Mngane Wami, is being hosted by show promoters, 2 Kings Entertainment, who have assured people that the artiste will definitely be coming.

“Her management has assured us she is keen to come to Bulawayo especially considering that she couldn’t make it last year. We’ve made her payments and are now looking forward to hosting her,” said DJ Dee Nosh, one of the organisers.

If she does come, Babes will share the stage with Ngamnanka uSaMamoe hit-maker Madlela Skhobokhobo, Mzoe 7 and DJ Mzoe among others.

“We wanted Babes to have a feel of local music hence our diverse choice of artistes. This is why we have the likes of Mzoe 7, an afro pop artiste alongside Madlela – a rhumba artiste,” said Dee Nosh.

He said no advance tickets would be sold with tickets being sold for $7 at the gate.

VIP tickets have been pegged at $12. The Chronicle
